Meet Ricky Bobby and Cal Naughton
Bucks that have grown up together!

The Latest Update from Karen - February 2009

Ricky, at almost 16 months, appears to be the typical Flemish. He is the dark sandy. I am not sure if they keep growing at this point but he is a good 18 pounds. Very kick back. Won't walk anywhere in the house unless there is a rug down. Loves his almost daily trips into the backyard and rose garden. Loves to stretch out in his cage with his legs out. I spend a lot of time in the room with them as it is my office, so I leave the cage open. He usually just hangs out in his cage. He gets very loving and cuddly in the evening. He was very bonded for months with Cal and then they had a pretty good fight. Both cages were open and Cal was hanging out with Ricky and I was in the other room watching a movie. By the time I heard the rustling and got into the room they were still going at it. I took a chance separating them by using my hands, but I managed to not get bit this time! It took about a week to start the re-bonding process, but it seems to be okay now. I just have to remember to never leave both cages open at the same time.

Cal....the blue. Wow. He is astonishing! He is the clown! He appears to be a tad bit bigger than Ricky but still weighs in at 18 pounds. Once the door to his cage is opened, he goes directly to the litter box outside of their cages, does his business and makes a beeline to my room across the hall. He loves to go under my bed and chew on the shoe and purse boxes I have left for him. He also chews on my bed (not good!) and then will just hang out under the bed and nap for hours. The cats hate him because he chases them. I think he just wants to play. He doesn't realize that even tho my bed is so high up, he could jump up and relax there. Good thing he doesn't. I'd have no bedding left. He loves to go back in his cage and flip over on his side and look cute. Loves to be pet and chatters like crazy when he is lovely. He also loves to run and stretch outside. After about 20 minutes outside, he knows where the door is and goes in automatically if it is open.

They are both beautiful! They are so big and powerful and yet so gentle and funny and loving at the same time. Ricky lets me hold him like a baby. I show their pictures to EVERYONE and we love them dearly!
